I just bought a new PC and the monitor it came with has both a vga and hdi inputs.

I've connected my PC using the hdi one. I just wanted to know, if i connect another machine to the same monitor using the vga input, am i likely to damage my monitor?

Cheers

I mean DVI, (I'm at work and we have an internal acronym HDI for something else! OOoops!)

Absolutely not.

One of the buttons on the monitor should be a hot key for switching the inputs.

It is unlikely that the monitor will display both inputs at the same time, but you may be able to switch from one input to the other. There shouldn't be any reason why you can't have both inputs connected.

Shouldn't be a problem, I have the same setup myself. Just use the front panel switches on the monitor to switch between the inputs.
