When I start my computer it will start to load. After it is done with the first loading screen it goes black for around 5 min. Then it load the second thing. Then it takes around 3 min. to load my profiles. And after I pick my profile I get logged on and I have no start menu bar. Also my disk drive wont open.

To the DVD wizards out there: I need your input and advice. I download lots of video files from Usenet and the torrent sites. I'm currently using CyberLink Power Producer 3 to author scene menus and to convert the files from avi etc to DVD. PP3 came with my DVD burner.

I'm looking to take a step up to a product with a few more features. The most important upgrades are 1) entering a time stamp and having the software position me at that point and 2) using different menu styles on the main screen and scene/chapter screens.

Free would be best, of course, but I need to keep the price under $75. I'd pay $100 for a really outstanding solution. It needs to be easy to configure.

I have a emachine t2895 tower and the motherboard and cpu went out. I found a good deal on a dual core setup that supports my ram and hard drives, but its an amd setup and im running intel. Will I have to reinstall windows when I install the new components or can i boot off my old hard drive with my existing data?

I would like to create a small home intranet (local area website)for myself/my house. Please let me know the best way to implement a calendar and feedback form (that is, when the form is submitted the results are sent to a folder on my computer).

I am using/have Macromedia Dreamweaver 8, Microsoft FrontPage 2003 & Internet Information Services (IIS) for Windows XP Professional.

I am using IIS to host the website.

This is more for fun than anything else.

This card: EVGA 768-P2-N831-AR GeForce 8800GTX 768MB 384-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card .... is selling for $530

Why is the PNY card selling for so much money and is 256 memory ... and the eVGA has 3 times as much MB and its basically the same price... I don't get it????

Can someone explain this to me... I'm good with computer specs but I don't get it.

I lost my taskbar on XP and cant seem to get it back. I have tryed through control panel and doesnt work. Auto hide taskbar is unchecked, and taskbar on top of all windows in checked. And there is no way to pull it up from bottom because its just plain gone. I boot in safemode and its there but as soon as I reboot normally, its still gone. What do I do??? please help me.

I edited a picture and saved it but I want to revert it back. I changed it to black and white, when it was originally in color. I saw somewhere that there is a way to revert your picture back I just can't find out how....please help!

other than Marcelle what are free fonts with tails on the end? i dont really have the money to buy a $40.00 font when all i need is one ribbon. so i would be much obliged if someone were to inform me on where i can find a font like it. or better like Saloonkeeper Swashes. i really would like it. thanks in advance if anyone knows.

While I am working on line, sometimes my computer would suddenly shut down on its own. If this happens, I would have to restart it & redo things over again (what I was working on...writing e-mails, etc).

Why is my computer doing it?

Well I made a website for bloggers a while back and took it down because I couldn't afford hosting, I have free hosting for the next few months and I put the site back up. I'm just not very sure if this a very good idea for a site, it is targeted towards bloggers and other people with small sites.

Let me give a example of what my site does, say im a blogger and I want to post a link to one of my articles on a large website, like digg or any site that gets alot of traffic. So I go to www.sagags.com and make a backup so that in case my site crashes from the traffic I can just forward people to the backup I made on www.sagags.com, or I can just link them to the backup from the beginning so that my site never crashes.

Would you ever use this site? Is it even necessary to have a site like that?

i have one of those U3 Sandisk flash drives that come with a RAW drive that holds all the U3 software on it to boot up when you plug it into a computer, im trying to format it with cmd so when im in cmd i put "format h: /FS:FAT32" then it asks for a volume label, i have tried naming H:, Z:, and just hitting enter but it always says incorrect volume label, what do i do?

I have a laptop with XP. I am trying to record sound using either the Microsoft sound recorder or Streaming Audio Studio but no sound is recorded. I can hear the sound coming from my speakers (I have tried using both the internal speakers and an external speaker) but it doesn't record. Is there something different I need to do with a laptop? I've always had desktop PC's and have no idea how to make it record! Thanks to all of you for your help!

Well.. Whenever I start up my PC, ANY full screen application such as when the 'Dell' sign is shown or the 'Windows XP' sign is snows, it does not fill up the whole screen of my PC, it it does however show the signs, but with about 4 inch gaps from the top, bottom, left and right with black lines.

I wanted to play one of my games last night however, when it finished loading (fullscreen game) it appeared the same as the 'Dell' and 'Windows XP'; simply a tiny box in the middle with black lines surrounding.

Im not too sure how to explain what I mean but I hope most people can understand.

Instead of anything that is SUPPOSED to be full screen, it is half the size in the middle of the screen. Is there anything I can do within my PC to make everything thet is supposed to be fullscreen, fullscreen again. Please give a simple, step-by-step guide. OR add me on MSN nirvana-a7x@hotmail.com if you really do want to help me. I am leaving for school soon and wont be on for about 8 hours. TY

I am running a AMD Athlon 64+, or 6400+ not sure, and 4-6 yr old Geforce 5200. Now my CPU doesnt go above 60C, and NAV can't find any virus that would sabotage me. The reason why i know it is not a interface/platform problem is because when i restart my computer after it just shuts down, it starts very slowly and doesnt give me a system error message when it starts up. The shutdown gives no warning and sounds like i just suffered a power outtage where all the noise will just abruptly fade off, as compared to a more abrupt shutdown where if u have your speakers on itll make a big "poomp" noise. Please help

my desktop does not work period i have no toolbar, no desktop icons and i cant right click on the desktop. the only way i can open programs is by using ctrl+alt+delete

i think the problem is i downloaded a skin and uninstalled it a day ago and forgot to change the skin back to normal by right clicking and changing back the theme on the desktop

if this isnt the problem can someone help i have also had a virsu for the past week and i think its from ultimate cleaner 2007 or something similar to the name of that that has destoyed my norton antivirus 2005 i get messages saying i need to uninstall/reinstall it and crap like that and it turned off my auto protect and i cant use the scan any help for that also
