This card: EVGA 768-P2-N831-AR GeForce 8800GTX 768MB 384-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card .... is selling for $530

Why is the PNY card selling for so much money and is 256 memory ... and the eVGA has 3 times as much MB and its basically the same price... I don't get it????

They are for different applications. First card is mid range graphics for workstations. It is mainly for professional use.

The quadro is a workstation card designed for 3d modeling and great for video editing. It is compatible with a number of operating systems including linux. It is actually on the lower end of these types cards.

The geforce card is a hard core gaming card and is a high end card. My question is whether or not it would render 3d aps like auto cad as well as the other card. Ive never played with a quadro card but Id imagine they are overpriced and aimed at industry.

Are they the same graphics card, just differenc companies. If so, look around for information on each. Is one more reliable than the other, does one have better customer service/ return policies? I recommend EVGA, becuz thats what ive got, and its worked great so far.

One is a Quadro, the other is a Geforce.

The Quadro is marketed towards.. people with money to burn (acceleration for CAD, etc).
