i have one of those U3 Sandisk flash drives that come with a RAW drive that holds all the U3 software on it to boot up when you plug it into a computer, im trying to format it with cmd so when im in cmd i put "format h: /FS:FAT32" then it asks for a volume label, i have tried naming H:, Z:, and just hitting enter but it always says incorrect volume label, what do i do?

A volume label may not have : in it, but null should be allowed. Try entering a word, like STUFF as a label.

The drive letter is not set when you format the drive - it is set by the operating system when you insert the flash drive.

Concerning volume labels:
FAT volume labels cannot contain any of the following characters:

* ? / \ | . , ; : + = [ ] < > "

Enjoy!

You can't format it from the Dos, the computer does not recognize USB port in the Dos.
