I am running a AMD Athlon 64+, or 6400+ not sure, and 4-6 yr old Geforce 5200. Now my CPU doesnt go above 60C, and NAV can't find any virus that would sabotage me. The reason why i know it is not a interface/platform problem is because when i restart my computer after it just shuts down, it starts very slowly and doesnt give me a system error message when it starts up. The shutdown gives no warning and sounds like i just suffered a power outtage where all the noise will just abruptly fade off, as compared to a more abrupt shutdown where if u have your speakers on itll make a big "poomp" noise. Please help

Well, if you have ruled out viruses and overtemp, then your power supply is suspect.

You might run memory and disk disgnostics to be on the safe side.

This could be one of two things: 1) an error in power supply; 2) Minimum power needed set too low

1) The power supply may be breaking down and need replacement

2) Configure your PC settings for the power percentage needed for the computer to function.

There could be a million problems. such as a bad power source, failing CPU, a bad hard drive, or a corrupt OS.

your best answer is to go to a computer repair store, like Geek Squad.

It might be updates that your computer automatically scans for and installs which require your computer to restart before it will be in effect.

What anti-virus software do you have? There are a lot of viruses that get through some differents programs...maybe that is why it is not being detected.

Try taking the side off and blowing the dust off of everything. If that does not work I would look at the power supply.

You need to replace your power supply. They ussually go for about 40$ + installation.

Was your computer on during a power outage?
