is it possible with Cmd to change the directory to another drive using cd, and if it is how i have tried and it doesnt stay in the drive and it shows C:

Don's use CD. Just type the device name. Example:

c:/> D:
d:/>

Not with CD.

CD is short for Change Directory.

At the command prompt you can change drives (like d: or e:). But CD only changes directories inside the drive in use.

to go to drive d, type:

D:

and that's it.
