Hi I bought a carbon fiber muffler off a friend of mine and went to have it put on. The exhaust specialist said he was afraid that if he used the normal C-Clamp and tightened it the carbon fiber qould crack and ruin the muffler so he was dumbfounded on installing the muffler. Can anyone who has done a carbon fiber muffler mounting job tell me the best way to mount it wothout rattling or breaking the muffler? Thanks

Okay I bought a 90 ford thunderbird a few weeks ago. He said there was a low battery then the car finally died and couldn't get it started. So I put a new alternator AND battery in it. Every now and then the voltage gauge would show it was above normal. but most the time it was a little below. I was driving it today (at night) and after 45 min the volts went to the red.. then I got to the place and shut my car off. Now I can't get it started!!! I don't understand what else could it be?!

I'll drive my 99 Toyota Rav 4 for a while on the freeway and the temp gauge will go from normal to cold then back up, usually after I get off the freeway then sometimes it will go back down again. Now I know what it means when it is too hot, but too cold?

on the post cat o2, should the voltage vary from about 250-600mv with a slow switch time, and under heavy load demand should you see rich condition for a moment(like the upstream) or should the mv stay lower? what does the ecm look for to set a po420(cat eff.)

ive just fitted a second hand rear axle on a 1986 fiesta xr2, since doing this the back end is very scarey, ive now replaced both rear shockers and both rear trailing arms but its no better, after measuring the gap between the trailing arm and the wheel i found that the passenger side gap is half the size of the other side.

I have asked a question before about my 98 Honda Accord LX 4cyl. When driving up hill and trying to go as in speed up, the car acts like it is getting now p ower and it doesn't want to go. I had the computer ran and there were some error messages that had to do with the cylinders misfiring and something to do with the catalyst. Well I took advice from here and changed the spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and the rotor button...and it still has not fixed the problem. I was wondering if anyone knew what would cause this other than the above mentioned things. I do not think it is the distributor I actually have a feeling that it is the catalytic converter. If anyone has any advice I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks

I have a question if someone can help me out that 2 mechanics cannot figure out the problem. My mother has a 2001 Oldsmobile Alero with the V6 engine. It has only 21,000 miles on there. She only puts on about 50 miles a week. The problem is that she is only getting 10 mpg doing her short commute of 10 miles per day to and from work. I have had the upflow O2 sensor and all the fuel injectors replaced to try to resolve the problem. There also seems to be a small problem with gas leaking into the oil pan as well but not very much. When I have driven the car on a long commute it gets great gas mileage, but on the short commutes only 10 mpg. Can anyone help?

Need to replace my 2 front and 1 rear wiper blades of my 1993 Dodge Caravan. I checked out the Rainx Latitude ones, but the 22" is $20.99, and then I need two 18" blades and the total comes to nearly $57.00 total. To me it seems expensive. Is it? Otherwise, what are some great blades? (I have 2 young children and love to play it safe)

Replaced ECM which tested bad, tried new ballast resistor, tried new coil, checked voltage regulator-tested good. Last time car ran was purring like kitten and just died would not start again. Couple times before car was idling fine and stopped for a second or two then pick back up and would idle fine again. Noticed that would (cut out)do this when I pulled on the parking brake lever which could have vibrated the firewall I suppose. I don't see anything under steering column that looks to be shorting out. My only other thoughts are the ignition switch or bulkhead connector on the firewall. Checked voltage at coil inputs and only getting 2Vdc. I don't have a wiring diagram for the thing doggonit. Car has had electronic ignition put on it and worked fine for about 10 years. Any troubleshooting suggestions?
