I have a 1987 mustang that has the bottom half of the radiatore core support bent inwards about 3 inches causing the bottom of the radiator to hit the fan i am wondering is the support a removeable part and if so how or is this a problem that absolutlely must be taken to a repair shop to be fixed

Just bend it back. Get a crowbar.

You'll need to unbolt the radiator to allow a little room to wrap a nylon tow strap around the lower core support.Attach the other end to another car[a truck with a hitch would be best] and give it a tug.Be careful not to pull too hard, start with a mild impact and work up to a more forceful jerk. It's easy to pull too hard and do even worse damage. good luck,I do this for a living.
