thinking it is in neutral

Vehicle is not in motion. clutch is down and right foot on the brake. Now suddenly I lift off my foot from the clutch pedal believing the shift-stick is neutral

Even after i did this, vehicle is running fine. Do I need to send it to service station?

It will just pop the clutch and die

That depends on the current speed of the car, how fast you release it, and what you are doing with the gas pedal at the time.

But generally today's cars won't even let you get it into first if you are going real fast. So most likely you got a nice jerk and the engine died. Certainly not good on the transmission or the engine, but one time like that shouldn't be too bad. I'm sure most beginner drivers put more strain and the car from not knowing how to do the shifting smoothly quite a few times, and the cars do fine.

Unless the motor is racing for some bazaar reason It will probably stall the motor and little more. Even if the motor speed is relatively fast it will probably just stall. On the other hand if the motor is racing and you pop the clutch the drive train or transmission might end up on the ground. Conceivably you could even break the drive shaft in the motor but I guarantee you would know it if you did.

Probably none unless you are close to a car in front of you and you haven't got the handbrake on. Just hope you are insured and it's not a Ferrari.
