tires can wear out from the inside. I am concerned about my RV trailer tires, bought new in 2004 and have only about 8,000 miles on them. They still look great. Should I be concerned about them being wearing out "from the inside?"

MY NCT is booked for next week and the driver's door lock suddenly stopped working. I could lock it with the key but can't unlock it. I messed with it for a bit and got it to unlock but only if you hold it at a particular angle. It's a temporary fix at best. However, I can't really afford to get it fixed in a garage at the moment and am wondering can they fail the car in the NCT because of it. I mean it doesn't really affect the safety of the car or make it a liability on the round.

I have had my Acclaim for a little over a year, and it hasn't caused me any problems until December. I had just been driving the car and I took it home to pick something up from my house. My car had been turned off not even 15 minutes, and I went back out to start my car, and it wouldn't start. My stepdad and a friend of his looked at it, and I ended up replacing the fuel pump. My car seemed like it was okay, and it ran for a few days. About 3 or 4 days later, I was out at a restaurant with my fiancee, and as we were leaving the parking lot, my car died and wouldn't start again. Again, I had my stepdad and his friend look at it, and they took the starter to AutoZone, where they were told that it was shot. Again, I put money down on another part for my car. My stepdad put the new starter in, but yet again, it wouldn't start. He took the new starter back to AutoZone, and found out that the starter was good, and my stepdad suggested that it wasn't the alternator. What could be wrong?

What's the best temporary fix for a dented car that's beginning to rust a little before I can afford to take it to the body shop? Does anyone know of any reputable body shops in the Eastern NC area?

I have a 1996 Dodge Avenger that needs transmission work. At a repair shop, I was told it could cost me around $2000. I'm a student, and I can't afford that - plain and simple. I figured if law students under a lawyer's supervision can help clients at a discount and if I can get my haircut by a cosmetology student at a discount, maybe the same would apply for cars at an auto mechanic school.

I bought this thing for $500. It's in really good shape, but none of the four windows work. I've removed the switch and checked for power, It has battery voltage at all the wires. The previous owner had already replaced the swich and he said it's the power window control module. Now the question is, Where the heck is it and what does it look like. I've looked inside the door, nothing there. I can buy one from the dealer for $75 or buy one at the salvage yard for $20 if I can identify it...hmmmmm. Thanks in advance for the help and best answer will be rewarded with my vote

My friend has a 99 contour and the front driver side window has come off the track. I haven't looked at it yet but she has tried to get the door panel off to get it back on the track. She told me they took out all the screws and tried pulling it every which way. It feels like it gets hung up somewhere around the door handle like there is a screw or something there but can't see anything. I'm going to go look at it this weekend and wondering if there's anything i need to know to look for to get this panel off for her.

I bought a car (1996 bmw 318ti) with 84,000 miles on it about 3 weeks ago. The car has no heat, leaking anti freeze, the airbag light is on, and it idles rough. The dealer that I bought it from told me that he would fix the heat and all other problems when I bring it that following weekend.

Well, I bought it back 3 weekends in a row and the heat isn't fixed or any of the other problems! The wind chill in NY is 17 degrees this week and I have a 3 year old who is freezing. He keeps making excuses (the part is not in, or the part is coming in, or its hard to fix)

What can I do to scare him a bit and make sure my car gets fixed this weekend. P.S.- My BMW 2 year bumper to bumper warranty just kicked in this week.

Thanks

I drive a 1986 Chevy Monte Carlo with 61,000 miles and it drives decently well. I was wondering if anyone can help me out and give me some tips on repairs and maintenance that won't cost a fortune so that I can keep the car alive for a while. Any little tips would be helpful since I don't know the first thing about car maintenance.
