2000 dodge stratus
i disconected battery once then after connecting battery and try to turn my car on the ignition fuse blew (motor won't crank and radio wont work). i replaced ignition fuse then it worked for a day i went to store, drove it for 40 - to 80 miles and next day my fuse was blown again i replace twice and it blew my igntion fuse twice. then i replace it once more and my car started again. i took my car to work again and when i was going to lunch my fuse was blown again

what is the problem? is it my ignition coil? how come is not shorted all the time because when replacing fuse radio is on it is only when i want to start the car (crank it ) that blows my fuse.

and a mechanic told me he checked the cv boots and joints and tht nothing was wrong with it, that it's probly the hub assembly but couldn't tell at that time whether it was the right or left becaue the sound wasn't distinct enough, the job for one side is estimated at $300, now my question is, if it happens to be a cv boot or joint, how expensive is that or what are the costs?

This "headache" is costing money but I am not resolving problems. It has needed a water pump every year for the last 3 years. Then in july it started "stumbling "when being driven.it died and shop said it needed a fuel pump. Then in september it just wouldn't start,no inkling that I had a problem.Shop said it needed a battery,in october the battery gauge showed I was having problem with charging.Keeps charge at high idle.So shop said needs alternator.Put in alternator, car was fine.Without warning the gauge shows charging problems again.Could the gauge be faulty or is it a problem in the electrical system.I'm tired of just replacing parts and not resolving the problem. This car should have come with a supply of headahe medication!!!It still "stumbles" occasionally when driving.Any ideas?????

Yesterday I got some guy to paint the fender of my car where it had scratches on it. My car is white. Now you can see little white marks on the car where he used the touch up paint. How can we fix this where it is not noticeable and blends in with the car so no one can tell it used to be scratched?

lenght lights that are in all newre cars[the last 20 years, actually].
The housing is broken from the accident, so I can't use the finger lenght bulb. It would just dangle. So that square headlight box would fit nicely. They are both 12 volts. Is that okay, or would there be an electrical problem, a short or whatever.
The particular headlight/box that I saw at Wal Mart-one of them, anyway has the same connection-that two prong one in a sideways
connect. As you can see, I know little about car fix-up
Thank you for your help, friends

My 1998 Vectra was running fine until one day I started it up and it will not go into 1st or 2nd gear. The car is now stuck in reverse and the gearstick moves freely into the other gear positions .

I just want to knwo what a hub assembly is...i know it's for the tire and i know i need to have my left one replaced, it's making a pop pop pop thunk thunk noise and now it's squeaking, so it obviously needs to be replaced but the thing is, the mechanic is giving me a quote of $300, i know it's not THAT bad sounds about right...but i tried looking up hub assembly at autozone to see if i can get the part cheaper or mke sure their not marking it up too high and i don't know which one to choose, the ones i click on say around $60 but they're only charging me $90 for labor, so what gives? i know my car has abs, tht might be it, and i have a 97 chevy cavalier convertible LS in case that helps...someone help me?

I looked in my local paper, and there was a set deal on a service and mot. Altogether 84.99 plus vat. Including new spark plugs, points (erm what ever that is) oil, oil filter, anti freeze and consumables(whatever they are lol). Also free checks and adjustments to brakes, steering, suspension, timing belt, tyres, exhaust, lights, underbody and electronic tuning. Also i said i would pay another 8 pounds on top for an air filter. Does this service sound ok too you, is there something missing that usually needs regular checks. Advice appreciated as i am a female 21 years of age. Obviously you men know better.

thank u people for reading this. mwah xx

Ok my apt isn't the cleanest thing around, I get off of work too late, my kids throw everything around, and if I call for maintanance the office will come into my apt and write me another infraction and kick me out for not having a tip top apt...I want to get it fixed but right now it's getting colder and i don't have time to clean right now until the weekend...should I buy my kids an electric blanket or a floor heater...It's too dangerous for them b/c they are 4 and 2 ... Should we sleep downstairs and put on the oven? What should I do for the rest of the week?
