My bro in laws front wheels will not engage.The 4x4 indicater light comes on but the wheels are not engaging.Everything,axels,driveshaft,all look good,but what is the type of acuator up under front bumper?

i went to unlock my door and it unlocked and when i pressed the unlock button twice, it didn't unlock the other doors. Has anyone had this problem ?WTF?

This has happened 2x so far. First time, I was able to restart car after @10min. This last time I couldnt get it started and battery eventually died completely while waiting for tow truck. It is in the repair shop as we speak, but like I said it is not spitting out any codes and techs are at a loss at this point. I have been researching the internet all night and it appears that the Alero has many issues with the alternator. I cant afford to be stranded on the highway again! If you think you can help me, and need more info, I will be happy to reply.

91 S10 Blazer with 4.3L TBI. Engine idles alright, timing alright, new spark plugs, new cap and rotor, but still hesitates. Could it be a weak coil, or a dirty fuel filter?

I have a 2002 vw under power train warranty. Looking for advice for dealing with manufacturer if they dont honor the warrenty do to lack of scheduled maint. I bought the car used 2 weeks ago and can not get documentation on maintenance for last 20,000 miles.

Why does it take more gas to run cars in the winter time? Cars seem to lose 5-8 miles per gallon in the winter season so u lose fuel efficiency.

A friend of mine said a mechanic cleaned his with something, but wouldn't tell him what it was he was using. He had to scrub pretty hard though. Mine are quite annoying since they are getting obviously foggy and it's effecting their functionality.

Anyone know the best way to clean them?

I have a 1998 Toyota Camry, and along the bottom edges of my two rear passenger doors, there is this tar-ish, black goo leaking out. I think I read somewhere that it's anti-rust stuff sprayed inside the door, and it leaks out during the summer when it gets hot and melts. It's annoying though. Anyone have any clever solutions for dealing with this? As of now, I have it covered up with stretchy tape just to avoid contact with my clothes when I'm unloading groceries, etc. Anyone else have any more aesthetically pleasing solutions?

my apartment is just 2 blocks away from the office. therefore, i dont need to drive everyday. there are instances that i havent use my SUV for 5 straight days...literally, its just in the parking lot on the same location. Is this bad? Should I at least start the engine for a few minutes every other day specially during winter?

Ok, so i think i left some important information out. I'm getting good answers but not the right ones. So let me start over. The temperature gauge in my car keeps going to really high then back to normal then back to high then normal, all through the ride. And it drops when im pushing the gas but stopped at a light the temp goes up. And every time the engine temp goes up my heat in my car blowing from the vents gets cold. The "low coolant" light also comes on and off, however i have checked it every day and the resevior is at the full mark where it should be. My car is a 97 chevy lumina v6.

I have a 97 Camry and it took forever to remove the drain plug. I found out that the oil pan threads are stripped. What tool(s) do I need to make new threads in the pan that would be the most cost-effective? Thanks.

So I just got a 2002 Toyota GT-S a few days ago. And tonight after having washed it, it doesn't idle anymore. I can rev it still to keep it alive but not doing that will kill it in a few seconds. It goes upto about 700 RPM after ignition then it just goes down. There's a whisteling sound coming from the intake pipe as well meaning some air or something is leaking. Now I have no idea whether the washing, the whistling and the cold weather right now are related to my car just shutting off instead of idleing when it isn't moving but please give this a thought and give me some feed back. Thank you...

i have a quadra-jet 4 bbl 305 and the the whole carb is messed up but mainly the choke pulloff, anyways if i just go ahead and buy one of those edelbrock carbs wouldnt that be better than trying to get this one fixed. because this one is about 25 years old and it runs horribly

I have noticed my car brakes squealing, and I know that I need new pads. I only had the noise for two days now. I can,t get them fixed until two weeks from now maybe a week an a half. Will the brakes last up until I can repair them or am I in danger. They are only squealing not to the grinding stage. Also how long until they start grinding.

1999 cavalier, when turning sharply at slower speeds, like around a parking lot, there is a clunk and alignment does out, the car wants to pull whatever way the wheel was turned sharpest to last. ive checked the tie rod ends and they are tight, there is no play in the tires or wheels when the car is off the ground. just wanting to know how big the problem is. was thinking about it being a CV joint but unsure.
