I need some help if anyone can. My car is acting wierd. The temperature gauge keeps going to really high then back to normal then back to high then normal, all through the ride. And it drops when im pushing the gas but at a light the temp goes up. And every time the engine temp goes up my heat in my car blowing from the vents gets cold. Its driving me crazy. Does anyone know what is going on?

could be your thermostat, water pump, or maybe your heater core. first two pretty easy to fix, third one not so much

Yes, for some reason, its out of coolant/antifreeze. You are running the block dangerously close to dry. The engine is hot, the heater core is higher than the engine(it runs out of anti-freeze first. Find out where it went.

It really would help if when people pose these kinds of questions they bother to include the year/make/model and engine of the vehicle in question.

You could have a bad temperature gauge. From what I understand, they are fairly cheap to replace.

sounds like you are very low on coolant, fill it and get the system pressure tested to find the leak.
