Does anyone know anything about driveline support mounts? I have an 87 Firebird and the shop told me that this needs replaced but they are having a hard time finding the part since the car is so old. Would this part cause a clunking when I put the car into reverse and then again into drive from reverse?

I have a 2005 Subaru Outback. Today I went outside to start the car, and it would not start. I had to give it a little gas before it would start. When it finally did start, the car shuddered and thick gray exhaust came out of the tailpipes. Any ideas as to what is wrong? I'm afraid to drive it anywhere!!

I have a 85 Olds Delta 88 and I haven't put oil in it and it ran out of oil. I know that's really stupid, but it only cost $250 and I was just playing around with it.

My taurus just recently started leaking water/coolant from somewhere, right passenger side. It only leaks (i think) after I stop the car. Its not overheating per se, but may be running a little warmer than usual. Its running a little rough as well. I`ve had to fill my overflow tank twice in 2 weeks and the water/coolant leak seems to have gotten worse in the last few days...any ideas?

I've heard from some people that it's not a good idea to repair a bent frame in a car because it still creates problems, and from others that it can be done. Someone ran a red light and hit my van, and I'm trying to decide if it's worth fixing. I don't need it to work for years and years, just to run for about a year to get me to work. It'll probably be much harder for me to find a car that's worth the money I'll be able to pay to get another one than for me to just repair this one. The claim check is all going to the leinholder, so I can't even use that to buy another car.

We know where the top one is to put the coolant in, but where is the part underneath the car that will allow me to drain the old coolant out? Details please, thank you.

if you work in a tire shop or any car shop, for that matter, this question is for you.

Question---> i want to know how many other folk out there have a similar occurance in their workplace, and if you don't mind, share some of the ''salutes'' as well?

i think i have one of the coolest shops to work in b/c we have so many shop ''salutes;'' that is, a word or phrase that one person uniquely says, then someone else makes fun of it by modifying it slightly. then everyone else ends up repeating that modified version of it from time to time.

nonsensical? you bet. but it's called a salute b/c it salutes the person it came from.

This morning on my way to work a large plastic bag flew underneath my car. As a result a portion of the bag looks like it melted to the bottom of the catalytic converter and exhaust system. I'm sure it will cause no damage to the car, but it smells horrible once the car is warmed up and sitting. What I want to know if there is anything I can do to remove it without damaging the cat or the exhaust. What I intend to do, if I don't hear anything specific, is just leave the car running for an hour or two when I get home to burn it off.

I have a dent on my car and the collision repair people told me that they have to put it on a frame and it costs $600 to fix, can I use the pop a dent and be good to go? I was a victim of hit and run while my car was parked when I was in a building. I came out to my car and I have a huge dent on the driver's side of my car. If I turn it in to my insurance it will go up. That's not even right. Why should my insurance go up for someone hitting my car and driving off while I was at work? Also, I see so many dents from people who look like they got their car hit and later drove off because it's on the side door, evident that the driver who got hit was the victim of a hit and run. They can't afford to pay for the damage someone else did so they have to ride around in nice cars with a dent in them all day. It's a shame.
