We have a mouse who decided to nest in the heating system, it smells really bad. We did clean out the ventilation system, so we can run the a.c. with no problems, but not able to run the heater as the smell is aweful.....

On Friday I completed a 3-4 mile journey. On 4 occasions during that journey when I pressed my brake pedal it felt like something had given way under my foot. There was a clanking noise and my car just rolled on (felt like I was speeding up like braking on ice). It stopped eventually, as if something kicked in after the 'clanking noise'.

I checked the dash for warning lights, but nothing lit up.

The next morning I took it into the garage (with my husband driving in front so he could brake gently in front of me), and (sods law) the brakes felt fine; however, the ABS sensor light stayed on throughout the journey (which it hadn't done the prevous journey).

The verdict from the garage is simply that the ABS sensor needs replacing.

To me, this seems like a rather lazy diagnosis! Whilst it may explain the ABS warning light, it doesn't really explain my brakes not working properly on Friday.

Can a faulty sensor affect the actual braking?

Thanks for reading!

we had a bad radiator cap that was replaced, then we had a water pump get a leak and had that replaced along with the thermostate (needed ?). then it was still leaking and they said that because of the pump leak and not enought pressure in the system they did not find the intake manifold gasket leak (was it really leaking?). then it still leaked and they said that it was a bad gasket on thew pump they put in and it still leaks. now they are saying that it is the timing cover gasket. not sure where all of these ar at relative to each other, if they are at all connected, if the garage knows anything, and all of this has been in the span of three weeks. I am questioning the intake gasket and how it might be connected as well as the timing cover gasket. what do I do to figure out what it is.

It's not my alarm it's my actual horn and it's as if someone is pushing down on it for an extended period of time. anyone have any ideas what could be causing this. it's waking the neighbours

If they work, they all work. If they don't, they all don't. Working is not related to anything in particular (temperature outside, if the car has been running for a while or not). Sometimes they won't be working and come on by 'magic'.

I'd appreciate any thoughts before I take it to the dealer....THANKS

My sunfire died in october. It keeps bucking like it is not getting enough power. It is @ 100,000 and I think the spark plugs need to be changed. my car has also died, we changed the alternator and that got it to run again. When we decided to change the spark plugs, we couldn't find them! Like i said, my engine is a 2.4 which most sunfire has a 2.2 and when I bought it, I didn't know it had an engine up grade. So even if we wanted to change anything it becomes a hassel with this engine.

I have heard that you can run diesel vehicles on used or new vegtable oil. I have a new Audi 1.9 tdi car and wish to experiment. However, I don't want to completely trash the engine. Whats the best stuff to use. Used or new vegtable oil, then mixed or not mixed with diesel. What would anybody suggest. Is it going to harm my car.

GM Service Dept won't repair my broken indicator bulb on my gated shift because they claim there is no such light. I have 55k miles on the car and am positive there has been a light up until recently. How can I prove to the Service Dept that I'm right?

By the way, the owner's manual doesn't specifically mention the shift backlight anywhere.

I own a 2000 chevy venture. This evening i turned the key in the ignition and for a less than a second the lights on the dash board flashed, then no power, nothing, absolutely dead, no power to anything not even the doors, nothing! What could be the problem? fuses? relays? or something more costly?
