GM Service Dept won't repair my broken indicator bulb on my gated shift because they claim there is no such light. I have 55k miles on the car and am positive there has been a light up until recently. How can I prove to the Service Dept that I'm right?

By the way, the owner's manual doesn't specifically mention the shift backlight anywhere.

i own a repair shop, and i do remember seeing a light on a few of them but your right the owners manual does not mention it anywhere at all nor does it show it as an option,,on this one you may have to pull that dash your self and replace the bulb in it,other wise there going to not help you on this one at all,, you may find a small shop, that is familiar with it though, this is how i learned of them a dealer here in Tennessee also says they don't exist,,good luck with it,i hope this help,s.

Maybe it only turns on when you turn on the headlights?

At least, that's the way it works on my Ford.
