I have a 2004 Nissan 350z and the maintenance lights will come on every now and then when I hit a curtain mileage.

The maintenance light will stay on for a day and it will turn off automatically. You don't have to do anything but drive it and it will turn off. Hopes this helps =)

If you are referring to the "Check Engine" light, it isn't a maintenance light. It is a warning to the driver that the compute has identified a fault or failure in one of the circuits or systems it monitors.
If that is the case, you really DO need to at least find out what it is reporting.
You can go to most discount auto parts stores, and the nice fellow there will usually retrieve the trouble codes, and many times offer an interpretation.
CAUTION -- Don't ASSuME that a code referring to a circuit necessarily means that the major component for that circuit is at fault. It may INDEED have failed, but run the diagnostics to confirm the fact rather than having to repair it again when the first job didn't do it.

Good Luck

The methods mentioned are the only ways to remove the light. If you just can't turn it off with the scanner because you don't have one then goto an auto parts store like autozone and they will have it available to use. They don't charge anything to do it and you can have it read so you can know what it was turned on for in the first place.

In terms of looks, 350Z blows away the S2k and RX.

How to turn off 'Maintenance Required" light:

1. Hold trip/reset button on dash
2. Turn key to "ON" or start engine
3. Hold button til light goes out

If it is the maintenance required light then all you have to do is turn the key off, hold the trip reset button in and hold it while you turn to the on position *dont start it* keep holding the button til the light blinks and turns off. Hope that helps. Good Luck!!!
