i cant find a cool body kit for my 1987 honda accord so i have decided to make my own out of fiberglass and have the whole car re-painted. i have some ideas on how to go about this but i want to see if anyone has an easier way. time and money i have, its the method im looking for.

First you have to make the molds. This can be a simple wooden mock up of the part you want to make. Then you have to lay the class fiber cloth and resin on the form to create the basic part. Then finish and trim to fit. This can be a trial and error process with many potential errors and re-do's. It can be a lot of fun and your final molds can be a money maker if you create something that others would want to buy. It can be an expensive proposition to make only one set of the finished product.

I wouldn't try it. But what I would do is find a kit close to what you want and modify it to look like what you need.

Creating unique molds when you aren't in the industry is going to be tough. And it's much easier to add to and cut away from an existing fiberglass mold.

having your own is great, but first you have to make a mold, then make your parts, that means you have to make 2 of everything.

The first thing you need are molds,without them it's pointless.
