03 caravan, heat is very cold until the van is moving and as warm as it will get. do u know why?

that will happen when the coolant level gets to low. Don't just check the reservoir, check the level in the radiator as well. Be sure the engine is cool before checking it

let it sit and get warm before you drive, then you will have heat, heat comes from the engine coolant, it circulates into the heater assembly, if the engine is not warm then you will have no heat

thermostat has probably failed,replace it
