the other day my engine warning light came on in my car at the same time it developed a missfire
and i was wondering if anybody out there could help me
i have been told that it could be either a HT lead or poss even the coil pack
any body else have any suggestions
i have already changed the plugs and will be flushing with injector cleaner at the weekend

note as of 1800hrs i checked HT leads to find that number 4 is not fireing and that number 1 is very weak

check the ht leads,and coil pack if you leave it to long it will blow the pcm[brain],take it to a ain dealer,after you have replaced the above items,also check for water ingress onto the rocker cover the washer jets leak onto the engine and the water gets onto the ht leads there are modified jets to cure this known fault,there maybe a software update on your pcm,again check this with your main dealer.

I had similar problem with renault scenic, changed coil pack and plugs,everything running okay now. But i need to reset warning light on dashboard. Don't leave this problem too long as it may break your cat if too much petrol not being burned properly
