1992 Cavalier. Just put new heater core in. worked fine for first few days, not I notce coolant light on, heat gauge goes up pretty fast with NO heat from heater. Upper radiation hose not even warm. Could be caused by low coolant, kinked hose down by heater core nipples. (they were not in the greatest shape anyway). Loose hose clamp, or could be shot down thermostat. I heard that anytime a vehicle overheats you should have the thermostate replaced just for the sake of it. Correct? Drip does not appear to be coming from heater core, no fog when defrosters turned on, so thats good I guess. Thanks

I hope someone can help me. I have a 200 Dodge Neon that has approx. 118,000 miles on it. It is in pretty good shape and most of the miles are highway miles from my commute. I recently noticed that first thing in the morning it sputtters like it wants to stall (but doesn't) and also makes a hissing sound when I am driving. Can anyone recommend some things I could do to get my Neon running a little better? I do not want to waste my time doing things that are a waste or a ripoff.

Replaced spark plugs, distributor cap and wires last month, but lo an behold, after yet another rainy week, it won't start. Will I need to get yet another spark plug or distributor replacement? Is there something else I should be looking for? How can I prevent this from happening again? Car Cover? Garage?

I have a 99 Ford Ranger FWD 3.0 that will not shift out of park. I have tried using different keys and checking the parking brake with no help. I have heard this may be the ignition lockout switch, but want to get a second opinion. Anyone know where it is or how hard to replace? I really appreciate any help b/c this is my only vehicle.

Thank you,

1996 Nissan 200SX - New Battery, Already Dead?

Hey guys, Okay I have a 1996 Nissan 200SX SE-R, And up until recently, the car was fine, until I tried starting the car yesterday, and It was slow to start. I start driving not even a mile down the road, and when I pop it in neutral- the BRAKEand BATTERY lights come on. Immediately I know something is up, so I pull into the gas station to see what the deal is.
Fast forward to today, I popped in a brand new battery from Advance Auto Parts, and Works AMAZING in the morning. By 11PM, It barely starts, and I notice that everything is starting to DIM, headlights, rear lights, etc.
I finally make it home, and just like yesterday, this new battery is completely dead. I wrecked the car last year by hydroplaning into a ditch, and every few months the Serpentine(sp) belt keeps falling off, so I thought I would check that, but I looks to be on.
Does anyone have any clue what might be the problem? I have a minor oil leak, that looks to be low. Any re

I have read a million posts already on bleeding Coolant systems... and almost none of the posts were accurate when it comes to bleeding a Dodge/Chrysler 2.7L engine...

I had to take out the coolant sensor at the top (water outlet housing) and then added the coolant in there till it wouldn't take any more. Then I fill up the resevior (CAPLESS RADIATOR) and then I ran it with the bleeder screw open a bit and it let some air out and then I stopped the engine after 10 minutes and tightened the screw back up....

BUT, I don't think I got all of the air out because the gauge is still acting wacky, and sometimes heat comes out of the vents and sometimes it does....

It's NOT a thermostat or radiator problem, I've already replaced the thermostat and the radiator is fine... I just need to get this thing bleed..and I have read the manual and haynes proceedures and their greek.... I want a real world explaination...

Thanks :-)

We have a 1993 Chevy Cavalier RS,automatic its in good shape, has high milage, good on gas, runs clean, just had fuel filter changed, new muffler and tail pipe. We do an oil change every 3000 miles as we do most intown driving and never go on the interstate. My husband usually puts high octane gas in , and there seems to be no leaks any where? We have owned it 4 years and it runs like a charm and still looks good. We would appreciate any ideas as the mechanic cant figure it out? Thanks All.
