Hi i have got a vs commodore with overheating problems and need to hook up the fan to a switch. please help someone. thankyou

Well I will tell you but it would be easyer just replace the temp sensor
Here is how to do the fan
connect 1 peace of wire to the battery + side
Run this wire to rhe switch and from the switch to the fan. Connect the other wire from the fan to the neg- side of the battery.
Flip the switch and the fan will run.
NOTE: it is now wired hot. When the car starts to get hot, hit the switch. Be awair that if when you turn off the key you forget to turn of the fan it will run the battery down

all you need to do is find the power wire to the fan and cut it then take and put a switch in your dash then take a lead from a power sorce into the switch and take a wire off the other post and run it to the power in wire to the fan and just splice them together and then you will beable to run the fan on the switch.......now the power sorce would mostlikely whana come from the fuse box

u should have a heat sensor ur fan should connect to,that turn the fan on at a given time.i would recommend u replace it first.or at least have it checked.u could blow ur engine if there is a more serious prolem with ur over heating
please have ur system checked

if you buy a switch most all of them have the wiring diagram on them .. its pretty simple
