Replaced spark plugs, distributor cap and wires last month, but lo an behold, after yet another rainy week, it won't start. Will I need to get yet another spark plug or distributor replacement? Is there something else I should be looking for? How can I prevent this from happening again? Car Cover? Garage?

How do you are trying for the spark. least confusing element to do is to tug the HT lead off the distributor and carry it close to the engine. With the distributor cap off now flick the factors open and close. you may desire to be certain a spark. Get engine onto TDC with the valves clean of the cam. this might desire to be No: one million cylinder firing. extra wholesome no:one million lead onto spark plug word which way around the distributor arm rotates and extra wholesome different finally ends up in cap in one million,3,4,2 sequence. an excellent one for issues is that in case you're sorting out the action of an outdated form with breaker factors is to earth down a 12v furnish straight away contained in the direction of the distributor. This fuses the connector cord the place you may no longer see it. Hours of relaxing I had!

Since it is a 97 I would say it's probably a problem with a sensor in the ignition system. It could be a vacuum leak in the manifold intake. Check to see if your ignition is getting spark, if it is then check to see that fuel is being moved. If it is you'll have to go to a garage to see if the sensors are all working.
