Maintenance & Repairs - September 2006

The covering is plastic-like, heavy and big enough to cover the contents on the back of an open-back truck. People also use it to cover tents and also to use as a roof of an unfinished house as shelter. It is pronounced as pollane, but that doesn't appear to be the correct spelling, as I can't seem to find it anywhere on the internet. Please help me!

One bit of info I ommitted - my car does not overheat when the AC is off - it runs just fine. The overheating problem occurs only when the AC is on and I am stuck in traffic.

My car is overheating while sitting in traffic during the hot summer heat with the AC ON.

What happens is this:

1. Begin to get into traffic - slowing down or a complete stop.
2. After a few minutes in traffic, the AC begins to blow hot air.
3. A few minutes after that, the temperature gauge goes through the roof.

The AC works fine with the temp guage having no problems when there is no traffic - it blows cold and the guage stays at the mid-point.

As soon as I get into traffic, bam - AC blows hot and the gauge goes hotter.

Why?

my car was making a ticking noise so I had my oil checked and they told me it sounds like the lifters. I was wondering how serious are lifter problems?and also they said Lucas oil treatment could help is this true?

I just had my oil change and the mechanic noticed that I have pink coolant in the tank and green coolant in the radiator. He said that this is very bad and suggested I flush it. Is he right or just trying to make money?

i was stopped at a red light and when i went to accelerate, it sounding like a piece of metal was bending, suddenly the car is roaring and making metal on metal noises, but only when my foot is pressed on the gas, when rolling idle, there doesn't seem to be any problem...Does anyone know what that might be?
