you pour it into the cold radiator. It will not go out of the tank into the radiator unless the thermostat opens. Since there is no coolant circulating in the engine after the draining, the engine will overheat before the thermostat knows about it. After the radiator is full and you put the cap back onto it you can then fill the tank up to its cold-level mark.

If you drained the radiator you must refill the radiator. The "backup" tank is only for topping up the coolant level- every week perhaps.

Yes, you pour it into the radiator with a little water,or you can use that new 50/50 that is already premixed for you.

Put it in both and then run the engine up to operating temp with caps off and make sure thermostat is open and top up again.
