i just bought a 2002 passat, 1.8 litter turbo. i was driving it and all the sudden the check engine light came on, i checked the air filter, and it was filthy, i changed it and reset the thing so the check engine light would go off, about 6 hours later, i drove it with the engine light off, and as i sped up reving the engine to about 4000 rpms, it did fine, but when i got into town and did the same thing, the check engine light popped back on, i made sure the gas cap is tight, the car seems to be running fine, any ideas?

We've been told that, besides the oil changes, the Honda does not require maintenance for 100K miles, but the Mazda has regular 30K, 60K, 90K. Is that true about the factory scheduled maintenance?

im considering getting a electric fan for my ride but im unsure what to get i have the choice of a 18 inch Lincoln Mark 8 fan or a dual 14 inch fan taken from a 2001 Lincoln with 4.6L V8. which would be a better choice

I have a 1995 Chevy Cavalier and recently got into an accident where the passenger side fender/door was hit. the door would not close properly after. I replaced the door and fender and the hinges for the door. The door will not line up to close properly i have about 2 inches gap on the top of the door where rain can come in. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions to how i can get it to close properly again? Thanks

A gallon of milk leaked in my trunk on the way back from the grocery store. Didn't know it until a couple of days later when the entire car smelled like dead animal... I have cleaned the carpeting in the trunk with everything imaginable, washed it down with vinegar and water, laundry soup, used febreeze, ozium, baking soda, regular dish soap. I cleaned out the wheel well too. A month later, it still smells really bad. What else can I do besides sell it? It is a fairly new car too- I'm so upset.

Our dome light has not worked for some time now. My husband tried to replace the bulb yesterday. The brand new bulb flickered and then went off. Now every time we cut the car off and then crank it again, the clock goes to 1:00. Also, the door locks don't work unless the car has been running for awhile. What could be going on, and why did it start just because my husband tried to change the bulb? Thanks.

The 1998 Honda Civic was hit in the front before towing it was turning over but now it will not do anything, seems to have power from the battery, the engine is D-16 do not have manuel, engine was just replace. Can not find shut off. Does anyone have any ideas??

I have a 1999 Chevy Suburban LT that I am installing a back-up camera on the rear license plate. I can flollow-through on all the directions except that I have to splice into the + 12V back-up light cable to make a final connection.

I'm not sure how to find this specific wire, but if you can help me distinguish it from other wires I can finish the job easily.

I recently went to check my pcv valve and the hanes manual book said to with the engine running remove the hose and check for vacum well i did that and the engine died? Also there is blow by around the carb? i am thinking just replace it maybe

My fuel pump just quits at random. It may run fine one day and the next leave me stranded. If i turn the key off for a few minutes it will start and run again for a while. Is there anything ( other than a bad pump ) that would shut power off to the pump when the key is on

My automatic transmission in my 91 chevy astro was shifting funny intmittently (shifting too late, or wouldn't shift into highest gear). Some times it would shift ok almost all day, sometimes it wouldn't shift ok at all for a few days. Then my alt. started squeling and after a few days it froze up. I replaced the alt., and now the transmission shifts perfectly. It has now been a month and it hasn't shifted poorly once. When it started shifting funny, I checked it and it was low, but only a little. Could a new (good) alt. have fixed the shiting problem, or is it a coincidence?
