i own a repair shop,,and if you,ll look at the back up light ,,and follow this wire ,,its the positive wire for the back up lights,,easy way to find it ,,put vehicle in reverse with the engine not running, and the emergency brake on,and go back and see which bulb is burning,,and tap this wire on the one burning, that will be the positive wire for it,,make sure the wire you tap in to has juice on it,,and then cut the key off and finish the installation of it,,that's about all there is too it,,i have installed a few of them before good luck i hope this help,s.

turn on the ignition but dont start the truck
set the parking brake
put the truck in reverse
your existing back up lights will come on
if you are to splice into it in the back of the vehicle take a low voltage test light to one of the now lit back up lights and check to see which wire is hot
there you go
if the connection should be made up front get underneath and find the backup light swith on the transmission linkage and do the same there

your best bet is using a test light.turn igntion to run positon(lights on dash will come on)don't start car. move shifter to reverse see which bulb lights up in rear. if you can remove socket and bulb from housing do so.black is ground the other colour will be positive.if it is a circuit board lighting set up you will need a test light to find out which wire powers up when you shift it into rev.explanation of test light.mail me
