I have a 1995 Chevy Cavalier and recently got into an accident where the passenger side fender/door was hit. the door would not close properly after. I replaced the door and fender and the hinges for the door. The door will not line up to close properly i have about 2 inches gap on the top of the door where rain can come in. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions to how i can get it to close properly again? Thanks

the door wasn't "hung" properly. or the unibody was bent more than you thought.

i saw the pics. the accident was not bad enough to bend the frame(unibody). but could have pushed in the bottom hinge.you can try to adjust the bolts that bolt the hinge to the door you might have to modify the hinge. you can also try pulling the bottom out and pushing the top in.by loosening the bolts on the hinge to the door. it will be better if you remove the fender first, its easier.

Try lifting up on the door and closing it, if it doesn't close, readjust y our hinges. If you don't have any luck with those ideas, take it to a body shop maybe it's something they can fix on the spot.
