The first thing you'll have to do is have the freon vac'd out by a pro, and then it's just a matter of disconnecting the wire, undoing the lines that run to the condenser, then unbolting the compressor from the brackets, redo everything in reverse. Double check your bolts, and wires. You didn't state what year the vehicle is, so I'll assume that you need to do a R-134 conversion. Follow the directions and buy a leak detector kit. fill it up with freon and go chill out. Excluding the cost of the compressor everything else should cost about $90, don't just let the freon into the ozone which is illegal, most places will do it for free as they get to keep the freon that they recapture. It'll take about 2 hours

I would recomend a pro for that job.You have to evacuate the old gas,undo the hoses and wires,bolts,fit new compressor,fit new drier,evacuate system,recharge with gas(r134 or r12) and that has to be the correct quantity.
