A month ago I was rear-ended at a stop light. There was $8,000 damage to my minivan. Because the frame was not bent, the insurance company had it repaired. The driver who hit me left the scene without exchanging information. Witnesses got the license plate, and my insurance company found him.

Fortunately, I do not seem to have been injured, although I did not sign the release because I have heard that sometimes symptoms present later. I was hit pretty hard, and was pushed into a big truck in front of me (no damage to the truck, only my hood), so I was really involved in 2 collisions.

My insurance company offered me $800. Is that reasonable? It seems to me that the driver should get some sort of monetary consequence for choosing to commit a felony, rather than give me his insurance information.

Our Suburban was totalled and we'll still owe a minimum of $3K, although waiting on final valuation from the ins. co. The bank says we have 10 days to pay it off after ins. payment is received. Ain't gonna happen. Bank says we can buy a new veh. and "roll over" amt. but we don't want to be upside down again, so not going that way. Next option is to get new loan with collateral, of which we have none. We won't qualify for a new loan anyway. So what do we do? Income is below poverty level and we have no assets. If they take us to court, they'll win (we DO owe the money), but then what happens?

So I have a chip in my windshield...I called my insurance company to see if I had glass coverage...the rep stated that I have a $500 comp deductible...I know this...I heard from someone in the insurance industry that if the chip/crack is smaller that a dollar bill that the duductible would be waiver...also I live in central Texas and everytime I got to get my truck to be washed they always offer for my chip to be fixed for free...I have declined for fear that I would get a bill for $500 for a chipped windsheild...I also I take claims for a living for a big insurance company...but I dont work in the glass dept...that is out of a different office in CT...Help

My license was suspended in May 2005 for 1 year in WA. I received a document from WA DMV stating the suspension ceased in May 2006. To reinstate my license I need to file for SR22. I have not reinstated my license and since moved to the state of CA. In addition the license that was suspended and punched as also since expired. So when requesting an insurance quote do i tell the agent my license is A) suspended B) don't have one C) expired?

In addition I have transferred my insurance coverage to the state of CA. To get a license here will I still need SR22? How will my insurance or the CA state DMV know that I will require SR22 filing?

Anyone with an insurance or licensing background may know exactly what I'm talking about.

My son and his friends wants to take a trip down to Florida from Maryland next weekend. They want to rent a car for the trip down. All 3 of them are planning to drive because of the long journey. They're 20,19,and 18 years old.
We looked up car rentals and it said that the person picking up the car has to be 25+.

I'm wondering if the car rental insurance, under my name, will cover all 3 of them?

I've just hit 16, and want to learn how to ride a moped and get a license.
I was wondering how important the license plate reading part of the test is, as I have difficulty reading letters and numbers that are far away, but otherwise my vision is fine. Will this matter?
Also, if anyone could recommend any nice models of moped, that'd be great. I had my sites set on a Vespa PX, but they only come in 125cc, and at my age 50cc is the limit, right?

Any other advice or things I should know would be spiffy! Thanks!

A friend asked to borrow my car for an hour. After three hours, I called and asked him to return my car. He hung up the phone and never returned the car. After hours of calling, i fell asleep. I saw my car on the news the next morning in a high speed chase as it went through a building, totaling the car. I began calling his phone. He answered telling me he had just got out of jail and that my car was not wrecked. Your car is in the police pound. I will pay for it. after hours of waiting, my insurance company called. Yes the car was wrecked. This person is not on my insurance and actually no longer had my permission to be driving my car. Now I am car-less, he says not to worry he will buy me another one.(yeah right) just dont press charges. My feelilngs are involved in this one, but i was taken advantage of and my wishes were not respected. In his defense, he lied because he was trying to get me another car before i found out. now i have no way to get to work or get around.

I've been driving in the UK for 13 years and never had a crash or made a claim on my car insurance. However, my wife has had three accidents, all of which have resulted in claims against our joint policy.

I have now separated from her (not as a result of the accidents!) and want to buy a car of my own. When I look for car insurance quotes, can I state that I've had 13 years of no claims or do I have to take into account her 3 claims because they were made against a joint policy?

i'm military currently stationed in iraq. I would like to take care of a warrant but can not because of this deployment. I discovered i had the warrant shortly after I left. called sherriff was told i have to appear in person. (easy fix once I get back) .
Problem is I'd like to register my vehicle in my home state before I leave Iraq. Will a warrant in another state prevent me from gaining registration? warrant is minor offense

i went a little behind on my car insurance payment. contacted my agent who said i had to pay 2 months payments now or he'd cancel me(i am only like 17 days behind btw). i found another company that offered me a better rate - signed up. now my agent says if i canel my policy he'll say i was canelled a month ago so my new rates go up. unless i stay with his company. if i canel him, he'll cancel me back a month to screw me. is this legal- i m trapped, even if i pay.
