I pay a monthy note on the car and the guy wrote me two temp tags and they both expired. what should i do about the situation.

Go to the DMV and see if the unit is in your name yet as the Leasee. You should have the registration already. If the dealer is having problems obtaining title from his sellor that might also be what is happening. If you leased a used unit, the plates might already be under the dealers plate inserts, if you want new plates you can request that with the dealer the cost is $17.00 in California.

Check with the company that is selling you the car. In your case, you may basically be leasing the car and need to pay for the tags (to the dealer) and he purchases the tags. If it is considered a financed sale, you should have a temporary title which you can use to purchase plates. The only title you will get is normally called a "white" copy which shows that you owe money on the vehicle.
