my car was hit by someone that gave me her name and insurance information, when i called to report the auto accident to her insurance company they had no record of a customer with the policy she provided me with nor the name. She did write down her CA Drivers License # - I do not have license plate # either. I currently do not have insurance for my car. What Should I do?

A couple of days ago some relatives told me that everyone in the United States that has a drivers license will have to re-renew their license by the year 2008, no matter when your exp date on the license is currently showing, due to homeland security...... has anyone else heard about this? I was wondering if this is just a rumor or is this real..... I can only imagine the lines there will be at the DMV...... (shudder............)

My daughter, age 21, on a family policy, had a one-car accident - spun out on a curve in light rain (probably due to oil on the road). Car has front-end cosmetic damage but frame is OK - bumper, grille, headlamps need replacement (she bounced off and hit guardrail). Airbag did not deploy. We have $750 deductible. Anyone have any idea what the annual increase in premium will be if we report it to insurance company? Trying to determine if we should just fix it without reporting it to avoid a big increase. We live in NJ - the land of car insurance hell and big premiums. I'm thinking it will be about $1500-2000 to repair - deduct the $750 deductible and that means $750-$1250 additional out-of-pocket. I think they add that surcharge for 4 years in NJ - is that correct? Any advice would be very appreciated
