Very nice present. Someone must love you a lot. Go to whatever office handles such things (it varies by state and you didn't say where you were) and they can tell you. Generally you will need the signed title, registration card and insurance.

Same way as if you bought it. Take the title and bill of sale to the DMV. You still need a bill of sale or donor's letter for a gift.
