Yes you can. It is driving under the influence of a controlled substance.
The pharmacy should have placed a warning label for working around machinery, sleepiness, or something like that. You should be able to understand that something that may make you sleepy or dizzy should not be taken when you are going to be driving.

Yes, if your pulled over, and they can your on something. Also if you have the bottle in the veh with you. In most states they will ticket you only if your involved in an accident, or caught for any other motor veh violation when on the substance. In most cases it would be called DUI, or driving under the influence of an uncontrolled substance. One word of advice DO NOT ever drive a car with prescription pills in your possesion unless there in the prescribed bottle, thats felony charges if you get caught with pill without the bottle...

Plenty of people are suspected of offences such as DUI or worse but unless there is proof about it then there is nothing the police can do. Unless there is blood or breath evidence then it remains a suspicion They must be able to meet the elements of the offence before a charge can be laid and without that they don't have enough proof. Meir suspicion is not enough regardless of who the suspect is.

If you are impaired by any drug, whether prescription or over-the-counter, you can be charged, and should be. If you take a pill and are not impaired, you will not be charged. Since dizziness is one of the possible side effects of taking vicodin, I would say there is a definite chance of getting that ticket.

If you don't drive like an idiot to get stopped, you should be fine, but I would definitely wait a while after you take it to make sure you're not drowsy or impaired. I have taken Darvocet for my migraines and driven after, but they don't make me drowsy.
You might want to check with your employer too, because many employers state that it breaks their rules if you drive under the influence of anything, whether it's prescription or whatever...

It would not necessarily be a DUI. But you must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle. If any medication affects your ability to do that than you could get in trouble. Especially if you cause an accident causing death or injury.
