I went to their website and filled out an application for auto insurance. The quote they gave me was twice what I am currently paying. I know that sounds like an exaggeration, but it's the truth.

They have every right to charge as much as they want, but I think it's very unethical to keep advertising that it's very easy to save money with Geico. That appears to be a flat-out lie. I guess they spend too much money on their advertising budget to have cheap premiums.

I live in California and rear-ended a car today. The actual collision speed was very low, at best case two miles an hour. My car show no sign of damage but the other car bumber cover show numerous scuffs in which may of the scuffs are from past parking events. One can't really identify the damage that I may have done to the car. The question is how to determine the bumber cover damage I did that I should be liable for rather than paying for all past damages. The other driver asked if I wanted to pay for the damage myself and keep the insurance company out.

How does deteremine liablility of damage that I may have done to a bumber cover versus previous damage?

Any sugestions on how I should deal with this event? And if I do pay out of my pocket, how do I prevent future liability?

My brother lives in Sweden and pays so much less then he did (And I do) in the UK. More than that over there it's the car that is insured rather than the driver (or at least with his policy) so anyone over 25 years old can drive it!

So apart from the 5% tax that the government charge why are our policies so much more - Is there anyone who working in the insurance industry who can answer this please?

I'm currently financing a truck, however I have been trying to sell it as I'm in need of something different. A close friend of mine has agreed to take over my payments for me, but I have a question about insurance. Because of some past credit problems my friend is unable to get a loan for himself, so this works out well for him as I said it would be fine if he just took over my payments. It's not a big deal if the registration is still in my name as I trust him. Our question however is how to deal with insurance. I obviously won't want to have it insured for me anymore since I won't be driving. What I'm not sure of is whether he will be able to get insurance put on it since the registration is in my name. Will I have to add him as a driver on my insurance and have him pay me directly, or will insurance companies allow him to insure the vehicle even though it's not in his name?

My brother-in-law has hit a few animals and he said that the insurance company considers them an act of God so he never had to pay deductibles, is this true?

I was recently hit from behind by a midsize car at a red light causing me to slam hard into the car infront of me. The majority of the damage is on the front of my car where it impacted into the rear bumper of the car infront of me. My air bags did not deploy, however, my front hood is significantly crunched in. During the accident I suffered whiplash and hit my face on the steering wheel.

Will this negatively affect my insurance(even if the other driver was at fault)?
Will I be 100% unaccountable for the damages caused to the car in front of me?

I was in a drive thru and a car was 5-6 feet in front of me and all of a sudden came speeding backwards and slammed into my car! My whole front end is messed up! I got my car like a month ago and I know this is wrong but I just haven't had the time to go register it in my name or get insurance... now i'm freaking out because what's gonna happen. Will they fix my car even if I haven't done these things? Will I get fined? Please someone help me!

When I purchased my car almost a year ago, the dealer offered to pay for my car insuranse with his credit card because my college credit card had not yet been activated. He just said to pay him back as soon as I could because he was a friend of my mom. So I did, but I just got a letter from AAA saying I have to pay $50 to renew my membership. For a whole year I was never billed monthly from AAA but they sent me a card. I have no idea if car insuranse is the same as membership.

Should you get an estimate from a repair shop before filing your claim? My deductible is $500 for comprehensive (an animal ran into side of car doing 75 on freeway), but I just filed a uninsured motorist claim a month ago (on different vehicle) and the insurance co paid $2800.00 to fix. I'm worried about my rates going up and If the damage is less the deductible then obviously don't file the claim. However, the damage is probably more, but I'm really worried because of the previous claim which was not my fault, nor is the new accident. Do they take fault into consideration on deciding whether to up your rates????

What states is it not mandatory to have auto insurance in order to register and drive your car? I know that it is absolutely mandatory to have insurance if your financing your car or truck reguardless.

I let my sister drive my car when her license is suspended. The car is in my name and the insurance is in both of our names. Can I get in trouble by the police if she gets pulled over, and for what?

I was recently in a car accident and it wasn’t my fault. I got a police report (I went to the police station after the accident) and filed a claim. After talking to her insurance company I am told they can’t get a hold of her and they can’t process my claim. What can I do here? It was about $1000 in damage but no injuries. My insurance says I can go with them but there is no guarantee I will get my deductible back. Is this really true just cause the girl won’t talk to her insurance? I live in Chicago. Thanks for any help.
