My friend had told me he had insurance and it covered all drivers.... We live in California by the way.... Well i got into an accident today on the freeway. It was stop and go traffic and I rear ended someone doing about 5mph. The damage wasnt bad.... but my friend all of the sudden tells me his truck isnt insured!!!! So now my friend lied 2 mos ago and I'm stuck in an accident. The cops wrote up a report, but I didn't get a ticket... The cop however said since I was driving the truck I would be held liable. What will end up happening with this? Does the insurance company go to court to get a judgement over probably 2k of damage? Do i loose my license or what?

I bought a car in Massachussetts private sale. I need to get it registered in Connecticut. In order to get it registered, I need to have the title, insurance, and bill of sale. In order to get the bill of sale and the title, I have to pay for the car. After I pay for the car, can I drive it to Connecticut to get it registered as long as I keep the title and bill of sale in my car? The only other alternative is to drive to Mass, pick up the title and the bill of sale, drive back to Connecticut, get it registered, then drive back to Mass to pick up the car again. This seems like a waste of time, but on the other hand I don't want to get in trouble for driving an unregistered car - even if it is only for a couple of hours. I cannot find information on how to do this legally! Please help!

Some insurers promise to beat any other quote. Could it therefore be possible (depending on their terms and conditions) to contact two such employers informing each one in turn of their best offer, wittling the price down to a penny?

I just bought a car and its MOT runs out on 15th December. What is a MOT? What is a car tested for -what am I to expect? Can I drive my car without a valid MOT certificate till I get it done? What should I do on the car before it goes for the MOT test? I will appreciate it if all answers are given in relation to a person living in London, England, United Kingdom.

Thank you

My boyfrind was driving my car , my insurance did not cover him , I had crappy insurance. A van darted in my boyfriends lane then breaked it my boyfrind hit him , He said it didnt do anything to the van .My boyfriend got a ticket for carless driving, so he is considered to be fault. Okay the driver of the van loaned his car to a non lisensce illegal imigrant, How know this is i just got the police report , I got a letter saying we were being sued for 21 hundred dollars, I called her and said it was b.s , the driver was non licsensed and he shouldnt have been driving, she said it didnt matter because he wasnt in fault. Lawfull can we get out of this because he didnt have a licsene, he shouldnt have been driving.

I am buying a used car from a private party. I know my local sales tax rate is 8.25% which will be used to compute the use tax. How will california dmv determine the sale price on which to apply the 8.25% tax rate? Do they used edmunds or kbb to get a ballpark? Or whatever I fill out on the registration form?

I am a licensed and have an insurance policy of my own, but my son is NOT insured and does not have a vehicle of his own. He does have a valid license, however. Today, I had asked him to drive me to some places in my car, and he accidently rear ended another vehicle. I am wondering what I should expect my insurance company to say when I report this accident tomorrow. Will I or my son be in trouble since he is not covered under my insurance policy?

I am licensed and registered to vote in VA, I have a room and my mailing address is VA, I rent a room in NJ for which I also have a mailbox/address for. I live and work in both states. I do carpentry work in both states, so where I am most of the time depends on where the better paying jobs are. The majority of work I am doing at the moment is in NJ. I would like to register and insure my car (currently garaged in VA) but I plan on being in jersey for at least 6 months. It is my understanding that if I am living in NJ I must apply for a NJ license within 60 days. Can I have two licenses? Should I just keep my VA license and register my car in VA?
