I bought a car in Massachussetts private sale. I need to get it registered in Connecticut. In order to get it registered, I need to have the title, insurance, and bill of sale. In order to get the bill of sale and the title, I have to pay for the car. After I pay for the car, can I drive it to Connecticut to get it registered as long as I keep the title and bill of sale in my car? The only other alternative is to drive to Mass, pick up the title and the bill of sale, drive back to Connecticut, get it registered, then drive back to Mass to pick up the car again. This seems like a waste of time, but on the other hand I don't want to get in trouble for driving an unregistered car - even if it is only for a couple of hours. I cannot find information on how to do this legally! Please help!
