Ineed your help somebody passed away back in 2004, The person's son gave me the car and every time I try to put it in my names the people at Dmv turn me down what can I do? it is cost me money for stortage each month just where can I go Please help or write me

Resently my girlfriend and I were in a minor accident in Michigan. We were in a Meijer parking lot when someone backed into us. We got his information and called our insurance company. They sent out an appraiser and he wrote an estimate for the damages. Soon after that he called and told us where to take the vehicle for repairs, the body shop called us and we scheduled an appointment to get it done. We took it in and they began repairs. Then about a week later we recieved a letter in the mail telling us that the accident was under investigation. We didn't hear anything for a couple more days. Then we get a call telling us that our claim has been denied. Well the car is basically finished and we also got a rental car as well. Now their saying that we have to pay everything. Their reason is that my girlfriend just payed her insurance the day of the accident and that her coverage didn't start till the next day. So what should we do are we screwed? Please help!

How much does it cost to get license plates in TX? I'm moving to Dallas next month and am trying to get all the info I need to make my car legal. The TX Dept. of Transportation website didn't say anything about cost, it only showed a picture of the plate. So, does anyone know what it costs, if anything?

If your road tax has run out at the end of the month, you have 14 days to declare SORN.
Do you also have 14 days to tax the car or does this have to be done straight away?
What if you were caught with road tax that was 10 days out of date, what would happen?

OK ok I was stupid and bought a salvaged vehicle. I had the car looked at and everything was fine and I bought it. It was my dream color (yellow), convertible, and was even automatic so i felt like i just had to have it :(

anyways.. it got t-boned. The lady admited fault to the cops (she was on muscle relaxtants and ran a red light) and her insurance state farm said theyd fix my car. Just found out they transferred my claim to the total loss department and that someone will be calling me in the next few days to talk about it.

I cant sleep because with the car already being a salvaged vehicle.. about what percent do they pay of the retail value?
I owe a little under 10K at the bank, and the retail on Kelly for a non salvaged 2003 ford mustang convertible is 15K and private party value is 12500. Will at least my loan be paid off? About what can i expect they will offer? Will they try to low ball me and not give me what its worth? Will I have to argue with them?

I had purchased a car 6 years ago, however after losing my husband and child in a car accident a couple of years ago quit driving. I let the insurance and registration lapse as it was not being driven and was stored (the car was paid off). Now I want to sell it, however need a copy of my car title, I can't find it... I now live in BC and had my brother haul the car here.. can I get a copy of the title in BC when the car was purchased and registered in Alberta? Where do I go to get it? Can a BC dealership get a copy of it?

August 2005, I hit a truck from behind with my Corolla. (about 30 mph)
At the time of accident, the front of my car was totalled, and the truck had a dent on the bumper. That was all.
Nobody was hurt, and no one rushed to the hospital.
Actually at the time the accident occured, the driver and his friend came out to ask if I was alright, and told me nobody was hurt.
My insurance company paid for the damages, and I thought that was it.

Six months later, my adjuster sent a letter letting me know that this guy had spoken to a lawyer, and wanted to sue me.
I was nervous, but nothing happened.

Today (almost 1.5 yrs pasted), I received a letter from my adjuster that this guy is in the process of having a summom delivered to my insurance company and me. He's suing for injuries.

I personally think he's lying cuz
1) Why sue 6 months later?
2) He rushed out said nobody was hurt
3) He only got a dent, how is it possible to be hurt?

What is your opinion? Suggestions?

I'm moving to Lewisville at the first of the year. I bought a '97 Explorer at the end of Nov. and was told that the Catalytic Converter might need replaced. The real question is: If I fail the emissions test the first time do I have to pay for the full inspection price the next time or just the emissions test? Assuming all else passes.

Fenderbender today, the other driver was @ fault, I called my Ins. they told me to get a est. so i did $822.Got home tonight and had a message from the mother telling me she wanted 3 est. and wanted them faxed to her,I say yes but the more I think about it am I obligated to get 2 more est.?Or do I leave it to my Ins company to deal w/ her company?I don't have time to run all over getting est. and my car will be in the shop for @least 4 days! So I'm leaving the grocery store and out of a parking place pulls a 1983 Honda Prelude with 7 Mexicans in it, and they hit my Jeep. I called the police, but they said they could not do anything because it was on private propery. They told me they could not speak English, but I heard them whispering to each other in English. I asked for their insurance card, by showing them mine and going through some of their documents and called their insurance and they said it was fake. I also wrote down the name and address of the owner listed on the title, but they do not even exist. My Jeep is going to require repairs of 4,000. What should I do? All answers welcome.

Here's the situation. My policy renewed automatically, but my agent neglected to renew my auto-withdrawal. So my policy goes into default for lack of payment and is eventually cancelled. This happens without my knoledge as I was out of the state attending training for a new job. When I returned home, I found this out and started the process of getting my insurance renewed.

I received a few quotes, all about the same price so I elected to stay with my previous agent. I spoke with him over the phone one night as I was preparing to move to Utah, and I confessed that I needed insurance NOW because I was getting in the car and driving there. He put together a quick estimate of "about $100 a month." I told him to go ahead and resign me, and gave him the authorization to renew my policy.

A week later, the charge showed up in my checking account for DOUBLE what he had originally quoted me. I called him and asked and he told me that was the penalty for allowing my insurance to lapse.

I am premanent resident and hold a Indian passport, can I apply for provisional licence at post office without sending my passport to DVLA by post. As I would be travelling and also I'm nervious about sending my passport by post.

I am 17 years old. I will be 18 in April. My mom just gave me her car (she bought a new one) but the problem is I can't drive it until I'm 18 because she won't put me on her insurance. I have tried every art of negotiation but she is stubborn. She suggested that I find my own insurance at 17 (with liability) but i'm not sure if that's possible. Is it? If so were can I find it? ANy alternatives?

I was out practicing driving with my friend.
i hit a truck when trying to back into a parking space.
Space was to small I hit the gas instead of the break.
I hit the truck but it looks fine but was not sure since i was dumbstruck at that moment.
I left right away to go back to the dorm. and find my front busted. more than 1,500 damage.
My friend told me I should left a note or call 911 and i was thinking the same.
We went back, can't find the truck, afraid campus police may find me i went to them and told them what happen. I was to Naive
Truck owner didn't report and I have to goto court for hid and run with out leveeing contact information.
What should i do when i goto court? play guilty? ask for trial by jury ?
What should i tell my parents? i don't want to disappoint them. how should i approach it?
