You won't get a jury trial for this offense. You will go before a judge and if you don't plead guilty then you'll have a bench trial. You should probably plead not guilty, explain your actions and that you did return to the scene to give your i.d. and hopefully they will drop the charges. If you pay, it's the same amt of money if you pay and plead guilty, so you save nothing. If you plead not guilty, you get to explain yourself and maybe the mercy of the court will prevail. You should tell your parents about it, so they can help or get legal advice. Asking here is not really getting legal advice, and we do the best we can, but so many things vary by state and other laws, we can't get it right for you.
Have you reported this to the insurance on the vehicle so they can contact the other person and try to resolve the damages? That will be great if you can so you can go to court with proof that it has or will be taken care of.

First, contact a lawyer for advice, not a bunch of hacks on the computer. You are not going to get a trial by jury. That is not done for small matters like this. Be truthful with everybody, including the parents. As a parent, I would not be disappointed in you, rather, just the opposite. Next, take an English class and learn to use the "Check Spelling" icon. All in all, you are a good person and you should hold you head high for being such an honest person. I would trade bad spelling for an honest person any day! Love Ya! All will be OK, in time.

Leaving the scene of an accident (LSA) is a very serious situation. Plead guilty and throw yourself at the mercy of the court. After five minutes of listening to you the judge will probably realize you aren't a criminal -- just stupid.
And for heaven sake, tell your parents the whole dumb story. They will be more disappointed in you if you don't tell the truth. Besides, they may have to bail you out of jail....(just kidding).

have you ever been in trouble before? are you under 21yrs? if you have never been in trouble you may ask for a prayer for judgment. if you are under 21years. there is a class you can take. go ahead and tell your parents. its better that they hear it from you than from a stranger. also if the truck owner never reported it he most likely will not be in court and your case could be dismissed. your parents may be a little mad at first but they do realize nobody is perfect including themselves. just sit down and tell them that you did something really dumb and you need to correct it. tell them you need their help in this. i am a mom of a 27yr old daughter and 2 stepsons one 8, and one 9. I am far from perfect and love them unconditionally. they will understand. I hope this helps. just be honest and tell them you were nervous. i promise they will never stop loving you no matter what.
