If you simply claim to have lost it, they will reissue the same number. I wouldn't advise doing any of this. It is VERY illegal and the penality if caught is not worth it.

I'm not sure why you would want ot do this, but if you really need to, I would go to the DMV first and explain what you want to do and see if there is some sort of form to fill out. If it can be done, there is always a form they can provide you with and usually a fee to do it.
