received a ticket in the mail, with the fee and someone else's license plate #, feels like a sort of identity theft issue, right?

When I first met my husband he had a friend (much younger) that always came out on a date with us. He was 33 and his friend was @ 19 years of age. We got married and now after 27 years I'm very suspicious. When I looked at my husbands cell phone bill it always had the same number at the same time. (His drive home from work) I called the number and it was someone he has worked with for a long time. (male, which surprised me) I asked the person if he was gay and he said no. My husband was very mad at me. We haven't had sex in 8 years and when we did it was like 3 times a year. What do you think?

The car is a 12 year old Honda Accord. It has 180k miles. It has been well treated and is in good condition and I expected to get another 3 years out of it. A guy ran into me on the passenger side and dented the door and fender. The back closes a little funny now so there might be some minor frame damage, but it drives fine with no detectable problem even at highway speeds.

2 Questions:
1. The title now says that the car has been totaled, so it is not like I could sell it for much. Any prediction on how much it might be worth if I sell it?

2. What are issues if I keep driving this car? Will insurance companies insure a totaled car? Are there liability issues if I get into an accident driving a totaled car? I can afford another car, it is just that I like this car and am feeling cheap.

Thanks

My friends car was recently reposessed. They took it while he was working so he had no idea, untill later on security let him know. They left no number or anyone to contact. The place where he bought his car from (buy here pay here) is nolonger where they use to be a year ago, no trace of them.
Anyways what do you do when your car has been repoed? Who do you contact to find out exactly where your car is? Are they legally suppose to give you back anything that was inside the car? How important is it to contact your insurance company, and do you still have to pay insurance on a car you dont have anymore?

My (legally) parked car was sideswiped by another driver last night.

Although the cheeky offender drove off without leaving their details, a passer by apparently witnessed the event and left me a note with the other vehicle's number plate.

According to the witness, the other vehicle's number plate was allegedly "DC 87xx" (last couple of digits withheld to protect privacy). The Police tell me that, where I live in the ACT, DC number plates belong to diplomatic vehicles.

According to the DFAT website, the 1st 2 digits after the "DC" prefix (in my case the numbers "87") indicate the Embassy which the car belongs to.

So, to cut a long story short, my question is this: In Australia, which Embassy does the number plate "DC 87xx" belong to?

THANKS

I grew up in New Jersey and recieved my driver license there. In 1989, my license was suspended due to too many traffic violations. I was in the military mostly stationed overseas and in the south. I had a Virginia driver license the rest of the time I was in the Navy. I recently moved to California and was denied a driver license because of the suspension. I called the DMV in New Jersey and was told to pay the fines for each ticket, plus the fines and penalties for the DMV. Unfortunately, I am retired and disabled. I also am on a fixed income and cannot pay the $ 4000.00 plus dollars it will take to pay this off. Does anyone know what I can do about this short of just to give up and not drive for the rest of my life?

I grew up in New Jersey and recieved my first license there. My license was suspended in 1989 due to multiple traffic tickets. I was in the military at the time and was then stationed overseas. I applied for and recieved a Virginia license and used that until I retired. I am now living in California and can't get a license here because they state that my N.J. license is suspended and they can't issue me one until that is cleared up. My question is as above, how do I clear this up?

So I asked a question the other day about a friend whos truck i wass borrowing with intent to possible buy. I got in a low speed 5mph collision he hadd lied said he had insurance on the vehicle when he didnt....

Now to escape financial responsibility he is trying to backdate the Title on the car and release of liability to prior to the accident and pin everything on me. Kinda stuck here and don't know what to do. The ladies insurance company has yet to contact me, nor the Highway Patrol who took the report.

As for me I don't own a car, thats why I wanted to buy his truck, thus I didn't have insurance coverage. I was relying on his statement that his truck was covered and covered all drivers..

So is the act of him backdating the title and liability illegal? Can he get away with it? What should I do? I don't think its write for him to try and escape out of this by screwing me for his financial irresponsility with his vehicle.

Someone on my same insurance policy has backed into my car in my driveway. Both vehicles have full coverage. I was wondering how the insurance policy would handle this. This is the first "accident" that this person has had in 26 years of driving. Do we have to pay a deductible? Will our premium go up?

he hit someone from behind, but it wasnt his fault, the person in fron of the person he hit made a quick right turn without signaling, so when the person in front of him breaked, the didnt stop in time. We just got the car and dont have insurance on it, the person he hit says she doesnt wat to tell her insurance. We agreed to get it fixed at my fathers shop since he will make it cheaper for us,she says she has no other means of transportation and that she wants us to rent her a car , should we be responsible to rent her a car? isnt it just our responsibility to just get her car fixed? if we had had insurance,(liability) would it even cover her renting a car?

Went for dinner at fancy restaurant, valet misplaced my 06 bmw m3 key and got into the hands of a crook. Theft happened in less than half an hour, and I reported it stolen right away. Police told me my plates came up on this machine that reads them before you cross the international border to mexico, so thats how I know crooks took it to tijuana mex. I was with the impression that they would find it within hours (lojack), but its been 2 weeks already and nothing. Im pretty sure its long gone, and it being in Mexico already, well you get the point.

Has anyone else had a similar incident as well??
Why werent they able to find my car ??
was it because it was in another country ??
lojack transmitter failed?
out of reach?

I am buying a 1982 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck, I personally know the individual I am purchasing the truck from. The title has been misplaced or lost. We are both under the impression that if a vehicle is X amount of years old you don't have to have a title to be able to purchase a tag,get insurance etc. The truck is 25 years old, if anyone has or knows the answer to my question I would be greatly appreciative.

My insurance agent tells me my son needs to have the same liability limits as me due to family purpose doctrine. He owns the car, the loan is in his name. He lives with me. I pay his college, food and insurance needs. Can I still be liable for a vehicle I don't own or co-signed a loan for?
