If all you have is one not at fault accident it should not go up at all. If it does check with a new ins company.
Did some more research and also depends on the state statutes and if you have any other tickets or accidents.

If it is proven that it wasn't your fault, the answer is no. And some insurance companies are very forgiving and overlook an accident even if it was your fault, if it's a first claim, and you have had a good driving record up until the time of the accident.

Depends on the state. Every insurance has different rating factors. The state regulate what can and cannot affect insurance rates. When you are not at fault and deemed not at fault, you are not surcharged (meaning points towards your insurance which causes your insurance to increase significantly). But when you have a not at fault accident you are pushed into a different rating factor which may increase your rate. Also you may loose an incident free credit. Call your insurance company to see how they rate you :)

Depends. In a no-fault state everyone's rates go up when they file a claim unless the policy says otherwise. Fault doesn't figure into it.
If you are a hit-and-run victim and don't have uninsured motorist coverage, your rates will be affected. Ditto if you are hit by an uninsured driver and your collision coverage pays.
If you have a comprehensive claim, fault isn't assigned but your rates will usually be affected.

If your in an accident and not at fault your rates shouldnt go up.The only time they should go up is if you are at fault and damages are more than 999 dollars. If below 999 they shouldn't go up either.

Yes. If you're not in an accident it will also. Or that's been my experience, cost of living seems to make it go up every year.

NJ it does. Unless it is considered by them as an "act of God" like hitting a deer. But if you hit something, like a guard rail when going around a curve and slide on leaves..believe me it goes up!!

Not usually, but other factors such as your driving record and other claims may influence that. But as a general rule, no.

It`s not supposed to, but you can`t win with them. They`re always looking to make extra money, and I guess it all depends on who you have your policy through, and where.
