Your question is unclear as to who is looking for your car, and why.

If you are hiding the car from a finance company, to prevent it from being repossessed, the finance company can (if they can serve you with the papers) ask a judge to order you to surrender the vehicle. At that point, failure to do so would be contempt of court, and you could be jailed.

This is not likely to happen.

If you owe money, either pay, or let them take the car. You are just adding more costs to the collection, and when they finally get the car, they are going to sue you for any and all outstanding balances! They will then seize any bank accounts, and garnishee your wages.

If you are asking about a car that was stolen from you, that you have insured, the insurance company should settle the claim if the car is not recovered in 30 days!

If you don't show up, they automatically get whatever they want, and a judgment will be ordered against you. So show up. I am surprised they haven't repossessed the vehicle already. Normally in a case like this, they repossess, sell it at auction, and then sue you for whatever the balance was between what you owed on the car and what the car sold for. (They really make no effort to get the best price.) Calling them can't hurt. Worst case scenario, you are still going to court, best case scenario is they work something out with you. They want their money, bottom line. However, they will probably want a chunk of cash (minimally, what you are currently in arrears) upfront before they will renegotiate the terms of the contract. If you don't have that, try anyway...they really just want their money.

I don,t think so,if they are trying to repo it and you have it hid they will just keep sending you bills and keep looking for it.They cannot charge you with thieft unless you stole it....but if you bought the car and behind on the payments they will just keep looking for it...You need to sooner or later pay them or turn it in to them.

If you are hiding a vehicle from repo then -- YES. Your court appearance will be for 'grand theft auto' and you could serve up to five years in JAIL.
