Are you using your own insurance? If not, then no, your rates aren't affected.

It may not raise your own rates, but you'd have to confirm that with your insurance company. As for pursuing the claim, for a $200 scratch, it might not be worth all the insurance red tape and stress that you would have to go through. Minor accidents like this happens often and who knows when you might get another scratch as soon as you get the scratch fixed. Either way, just get on with life, it's just a car and be glad that nothing worse had happened.

A no fault claim will not raise your rates. But if it's only $200, they might want to pay you directly rather than have their insurance involved.

If you don't know who that "someone" is, your insurance won't pay for it unless you have full coverage including collision. If you do, how much is your deductible? If you claim on your own insurance, your rates could go up.

They would be better off if they paid you cash. If you turn it in to the insurance, their insurance will go up likely $200 or more per years for 3 to 5 years.

It will not raise your auto insurance if you go through their insurance unless you have the same insurance company as them. It is worth it if you don't want to pay for it yourself or the person will not pay you cash.

I would go after them for the damage, and no, it won't raise your rates.

this will not affect your rates, your car was parked
if you value your car then you would want to get it repaired
if it's a junker and you don't care then forget it
