In most states 25 over the given you can lose your licence for a year.

I don't know that a lawyer will really do you any good, unless you had a VERY good reason for going so quickly.
What will happen depends on what state you are in -- likely you will get ticketed and points off your license. You can appeal it in court, and they may take the price and/or points down a bit, but I don't really see you getting out of it.

Yes, get a lawyer...PRONTO!
Here in Missouri, 20 mph over gets you jail time!...in addition to FINE$, loss of license, points on license when re-instated, community service, higher insurance rates and mandatory drivers ed.
It just depends upon the laws of the state you live in as to what the punishment will be and how you need to help yourself....besides letting this instance give you a GREAT BIG LESSON!!!

You left out some important information, such as your state or country, and your age. If you are under 18 you will have to appear and not just pay a fine and forget about it. 35 over the speed limit will carry some heavy penalties depending on local laws. Yes, in this case I think you need to have some representation.

you don't need a lawyer.
if you don't pay the ticket, you have to call and set up a court date. there you can negotiate with the prosecutor for a lesser charge. you won't beat a ticket like that but if you have a good driving record, you can get a lesser punishment.
