My brother lives in Sweden and pays so much less then he did (And I do) in the UK. More than that over there it's the car that is insured rather than the driver (or at least with his policy) so anyone over 25 years old can drive it!

So apart from the 5% tax that the government charge why are our policies so much more - Is there anyone who working in the insurance industry who can answer this please?

yes very expensive, think when you reach 25 comes down, when they get all the un insured drivers off the road may change ? well we live and hope, there was talk before about changing so its the ammount you drive how much insurance you pay, poor taxis drivers ? once you reach full no claims discount, and protect it,thats about the best you can get,

because we get ripped of in the UK in Russia the average insurance is 150 usd about 85 pounds a huge difference i think and i bet they still make a profit.Maybe everyone in England should refuse to buy insurance for a whole year to make them take their prices down.
