My sisters son totaled the car. The insurance on the car was cancelled a week before the wreck, so of course they are coming after my poor mother. What can the lender do to my mom? She doesn't have any money, but she own a home. Can they place a lien on her property? The lender is calling harrassing my mom. Its just a sad situation. Please help.

I am moving to Chicago for a new job on 10/1. I just renewed my Ohio plates and they will be valid for almost a year.

When do I have to purchase Illinois plates? Can I continue to use my Ohio plates until they expire?

Hello i recently bought a car from Texas as a Clean Title and had it towed from there to California. I took it to the DMV for registration and the car came out to be salvage in which point i feel scammed because the car i payed for was indeed clean title. I purchased the car with cashiers check. If any knows any lawyers or what steps i can take to get at least 30 percent of the cars value back i would applicate it thank you and if there is a lawyer in southern California that does cases like this please give me the number to contact..

I was in a small car accident today with some guy about 22 years old. This is my first car accident so I wasn't sure exactly what to do. We exchanged licences and copy out information and then he asked for my insurance slips everyone has in there car. I gave it to him but i did not as for his in return cause i knew the police would take care of that. Everyone is telling me that i shouldn't of given him my information of insurance. why is that so bad? what could be do with my information anyways?

I have a 93 accord in excellent condition. I had a tree fall on it, and do $3500 worth of damage, just to the body, it still drives fine. It's only worth $3000, so the insurance company is most likely going to total it. What happens when it's totalled? I won't be able to drive or sell it any more?

I have a bad driving record. 2 speeding tickets, a zero tolerance, and a driving on a suspended license. I know, it's horrible. My insurance is going to be about $500/month once my insurance company runs a clue or whatever on my file. Is my insurance going to be this high forever? Or will it eventually go down, if so, when?!

I lost my driving permit, the one you get by taking a written exam and you aren't 18 yet. I didn't lose it as in getting it taken away by cops but just misplaced it or dropped it while going places. I also had my white slip (proof u are enrolled in drivers training) pink slip (proof I passed drivers education) and orange/yellow slip (finished my 6 hours of driving with intructor). Will I need the pink and white slip back to take the drivers test? And will I have to wait another 6 months before being able to take Behind the wheel test or will it be from my original date? I read or heard you just go to DMV and pay a fine and they give you a new one which I hope that is true. Please tell me what you know, thank you very much... Much appreciated ^^

I was in a fender bender, but there was never a police report filed. However, I did file a claim on my insurance company. If I was to switch insurance policies, would the new insurance company be able to know about the accident? OR since there was no police report is it not on record?

i am a co-owner of a vehicle. the person got the car for my use and i pay the note. the statement comes to my address. my name is on the title/registration and finance papers also so there are two owners. the only thing is that i dont live with the person and my address is listed as his. say he wants to take the car, he says the police will give him rights because it is registered to his address. now i dont live with him so its kinda scary. also he is holding on to the tags, says hes in no rush to give them to me. the temps dont expire until november of this year. im guessing thats why he is in no rush. can i ask him to transfer in my name only since he has nothing to do with the payments?

that I show proof of my Dad's insurance on his own vehicle. They said if I don't, they must add him to mine. Why is that? He NEVER drives my car! He has no insurance, so I cant show proof. I think the company may drop me, so I am going to switch before they can. Does it look bad on your credit to be dropped or to switch for yourself? Also, someone said to avoid this at the next company, I need to say I live alone so they cant request anyone elses insurance info in my household. What do you advise me to do?

I had a friend who got his truck repainted and he said insurance covered the whole thing because it was an improvement that brought up the value of his truck. Is that possible because my car really needs a new paint job and its only five years old?

Thing is i have somehow missplaced my insurance cover note - when i rang them they refused to give me a replacement with out any more details of why! i won't get these details till i give my insurance in- the lady at the station was shocked by my insurance companies behaviour sayaing they should have given me it. Now i will prob get prosecuted for not be able to produce my insurance aswell as the other thing! What do you reckon?

I didn't exchange insurance information and got towed. The accident was not my fault, and I didn't get a police report (yes, I'm stupid, I know.)

Is there anyway to get the insurance to pay for my vehicle repair legally?

I only have Hit & Run and Liability. I live in the state of Texas.

Oh, and for you stereotypers out there... yes, the driver was Hispanic and didn't have insurance.

I went to Allstate to go get some Auto Insurance and got a policy. But a month later I get a letter stating my policy is terminated due to no proof in "continuos prior insurance", but I never told the guy I had insurance before. I think the insurance man might of put that in to give me a lower price on the policy, but in the end that screws me over. SO what do I do, becuase the letter says that "They encourage for me to get couverage elsewhere" which I guess is saying goodbye Allstate. SO if anyone here knows anything about insurance can you answer
1.Can I still insure with Allstate?
2. Is my credit score lowered?
