Do you have any infomation about the other driver? a lic plate.? phone number? you can still give it to the insur. co. Hit and run isn't actually a policy description....i think you mean uninsured motorist coverage...(including property).depending on the damage to your vehicle they may be able to tell that you were not at fault. Without information about the other guy. Did he refuse to give info..? If you have any information......it could help.
I have known situations similar and the company I worked for...paid out.
good luck

Good argument for acquiring Uninsured Motorist PD (property damage). Talk to your insurance company to see what, if anything, they can do to assist you.
I know that you said you didn't get a police report, are you saying there wasn't one filed or are you saying you didn't get a copy? If you just didn't get a copy, you can still obtain one. If you didn't file one at all, then you really kindof shot yourself in the foot.
I realize also that you said you didn't exchange insurance info, do you have contact info? (Moot question if a police report was at least filed.)
Your insurance company may have something to at least work with if you have either of the above. Without them, you have crippled their ability to help you--especially with the coverages you have indicated you elected to carry.
For future reference, UM both bodily injury and property damage are VERY inexpensive coverages.
Good luck!

You have to call this into your insurance company. Texas may require that you file a police report to get uninsured motorist coverage afforded to you. If you didn't report it then you will probably not get uninsured motorist and will have to get the car fixed yourself or go after the other person.

I doubt your uninsured motorist will cover any property damage -- Texas insurance is in a world all by itself so pull out the policy you got in the mail (but never read) and study it just to be certain.
Next time, for Gods sake, call the cops!!!

Contact your State Insuarance Commission for answers for uninsured driver. As if you were riding a bicycle and was hit by someone that did not have insurance.

You might get some comp repair paid.
If you didn't exchange insurance information, how did you know the guy wasn't insured?

If you want your car fixed, you'll have to pay your collision deductible. And it could be a chargeable accident to your future rates, since there's no PROOF you didn't cause the accident yourself.
If you don't have a collision deductible, you're out of luck.

your best bet is to contact your agent and ask him/her for guidance. if you have uninsured motorist coverage, it might cover your damages. you might also have to file a "blue form" through your local police department since you didn't get the police involved.
always, always, always get a police report.
