I have a 98 Honda Civic...and nobody can seem to tell me what is wrong. When I put the key in the ignition, the car starts...but shortly after it just cuts right back off. It only does this when it is hot or warm outside. During the winter it rarely did it, sometimes if you tap the key quick enough it will cut back on, on its own. I have to make sure the air is on full blast before I pull off because if it isn't my car will cut off again, Sometimes we have to hold they key in place to prevent it from cutting off. My car was doing this last year..and it turned out that the thing on the battery needed to be replaced..so we did that, and was ok for a few months but the car is cutting off again, so I am definitely believing it has something to do with the ignition...I took it to a mechanic and they plugged it up to some machine..but they didn't find out anything. What do you think it is so that next time I go to the mechanic I tell them exactly what to look at.

I have a 1989 325i BMW. It was a 1 owner car, very well taken care of, garaged ect..
I bought it 5 years ago. I took it to my mechanic for a driveshaft replacement and 7 weeks later & $5500.00 lighter he returned my car informing me I need a steering rack cuz mine has an internal leak. Without informing me he replaced 400.00 worth of hoses & belts, a new muffler, which I did not need. He did call to let me know that he was replacing the cam, rocker arms.I told him not right now & he informed me it was too late, the head was on it's way back from the machine shop. Also he replaced timing belt, water pump, control arms & sway bar link.
What I want to know is was all this work really necessary? My car was running great,
my oil pan had a little leak & my head gasket was weeping but we're talking about a 1989 325i. It books out TOPS 4000.00. I only drove to store & back. Is this normal to have all this work done on this type of car with 169,000 miles & very well kept??

Its an 06' Cobalt LT. I had to get the car very quickly with just the basics ( power doors, windows) no sunroof or spoiler..The lease is up in a year and a half.

It just started this problem yesterday. If at a stop light, the vehicle sputters almost to the point of stalling. And if letting off the brake a little say to ease up, the vehicle will jerk almost violently. And at take off the vehicle still sputters almost to the point of stalling. What's wrong with it?

I just bought a Grand prix coupe GT with 108,000 km, the car was not running when I bought it so I got it for a bargain, it only needed a battery to start up but the engine smokes a lot especially when hot, it gives out a blueish smoke. It still has a lot of power and even the AC works when idle. Does anyone have a clue?

I need to drain my fuel tank on my DIESEL 1999 dodge ram truck and do not know how exactly to go about it. It has a plastic tank and a mechanic told me not to let the fuel pump pump it out when I remove the filter because it would burn up the pump.

I heard once that the Bugatti Veyron was the fastest car made, but in a quiz game the correct answer was the koenigsegg ccr, this was a recently made game too, so the answer and question must have been new, but I don't know. I drive a P reg Peugeot 306. In all gears for some reason no power seems to be getting through-the more gas I put on the more the car revs without actually increasing in speed. The feeling is the same as if you were to drive with the clutch engaged a little. What is the most likely cause?

I have a 2003 bmw M3 e46, im getting bored with the way it looks, how can i make it cooler looking. It has 40,000 miles and dont want to put too much into it. I bought a 6 cyl ,manual trans,dakota sport, last year.Its a nice truck I dont even drive it much.My other truck had to get some work so I drove the dakota to work and back when I normally only drive it on the weekend.This things clean low milage ,but seems to eat up the gas.My other 4 cyl(manual) truck seems to go forever on gas.I had to pop the hood to make sure there wasnt a hemi in it the way the fuel economy is in this thing. ha,ha.Im just woundering if these things are just that bad on gas?I got the 6 cyl thinking it would be better than an 8cyl on fuel.
