I have a 2003 Nissan Desert Runner that is rear wheel drive and I was wondering if it is worth it to lift my truck to do some offroading?

The desert runner has the height of a 4x4. Where your going to have traction problems is climbing and digging out of the mud. Sane low speed off roading can be done with 2 wheel drive and it teaches you patience drive around find better places to cross rivers mud holes. And the new Nissan Frontier has 4.0 liter 265 hp. Better fuel economy, hill decent control shift with 4x4 knob on the dash. A much more capable off road unit.

I own a shop, and think; Why Not? These little trucks go real well on back roads. I know they don't go as good as a 4x4, but they will hold their own when it comes to going places like that. You just have to keep your speed up, and hit it. Put some extra weight in the bed right over the rear end, and let a little air out of the tires, and it will surprise you at how well it will do off-road.
Glad to help out, Good Luck!!!

Sure,
You might be pretty surprised at how well rear wheel drive trucks do off road.

I daily drive a 88 Chevy Silverado,- "stock" and i have gone off road many times with friends and other trucks-"4x4" i can keep up with them "a little slower of course" but getting "Stuck" is rare for my heavy full size reg cab long bed.

So best wishes! i say drive out one day and try it out before you add a lift kit and see for your self.

Depends on the terrain............If U lift U raise the center of gravity..........Then on a side hill traverse U greatly increase the chance of rollover. Also consider the stress the change in height places on suspension parts designed for stock height. Any modification from stock has unknown consequences..........be careful and do lotta research!
