It is about the easiest front wheel drive gear box you can replace. I did one two years ago never doing a dodge before and it took about 3 hours. Or leave the heavy stuff for the pro's we have lifts jacks and plenty of tool.

I own a transmission shop, and it really depends on the cost of the other tranny. You ought to be able to get a good used, low mileage, tranny for about $600 - $800. I'm just guessing here, but I would say you are looking at $900 - $1,200. Some places may be a little less, and some places may be more. Call some junkyards in your area, get the price on one for you vehicle, and add about $300 - $500 (to have it changed out) to the total. The problem here is this; The price will vary so much from state to state, and even from shop to shop, that hardly no one on here could give you the exact figure. Call several shops, get a quote from each, and go with whoever gives you the best deal. If a used tranny has over 75,000 miles on it, then you are asking for trouble. If you do get a used one, then pull the pan, and if there is "any" metal in there it is no good. Some debris in there is ok, but if its over about a teaspoon full, then run the other way. Before you have it installed, put a new filter in it, and replace the front pump seal along with the other seals, and it should be fine. "Any" sign of water in the tranny is "no good", and don't get it. When you install the new one, make sure you clean the cooler "real good" or you will have stuff from the old burned out one contaminating the new one. A $30 cooler is a good idea, just bypass the one in the radiator, and that way you don't have to worry about any stuff from the old one, plus this will make the new one run a lot cooler, and last a lot longer.
Glad to help out, Good Luck!!!

here's the deal, the exact price range will be somewhere in this vacinity ($1700-2100) if you can go to your local quick-
lube or auto zone. I am pretty sure the price of it will be
around $1900 though.
